- Straightness measurement of boreholes
Measuring the position of a borehole in rock and soil provides valuable information, which would otherwise be impossible to obtain other than by excavating the hole (which could be a difficult process if the hole is 2000 m deep). Common applications are:
-
The straightness measurement of energy boreholes in order to check that effective use is made of the soil and rock masses
-
A 50 m deviation in a borehole that is 200 m deep is not uncommon. Straightness measurement of boreholes for grout curtains
-
The measuring-in of prospecting boreholes to check the position of the borehole in relation to the evaluation of bore cores
-
The measuring-in of unfinished contract boreholes to guarantee that they emerge as intended before they are fully drilled.
